The Mobile BayBears are part of the Southern League and a Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The BayBears were founded in 1997 and have won four Southern League titles: 1998, 2004, 2011, and 2012. The team was named Minor League Team of the Year by Baseball America in 1998 and 2011. More than 150 former BayBears players have reached the Major League, including All-Stars Max Scherzer, Paul Goldschmidt, Jake Peavy, Carlos Gonzalez, and Justin Upton. The BayBears home field, Hank Aaron Stadium, is right here in Mobile, just 10 minutes from Malaga Inn! The stadium offers a variety of daily promotions throughout the season.
