There's nothing quite like the annual Mobile International Festival. Where else can you experience cultures from 70 nations all in one space?
The festival has been an opportunity to experience a broad array of cultural heritages right here in Mobile since 1983. Native Americans, long-time U.S. residents, and recent immigrants make up the nearly 2,000 volunteers who help make the festival reality every year.
The 2017 Mobile International Festival continues this tradition with cultural booths from more than 70 different nations to discover and explore. Cultures from Africa, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Europe, and North and South America, will be on hand to share and demonstrate their way of life. From clothing and artwork to worship, dance, child-rearing, and food, you'll learn about the myriad traditions of your fellow humans here on this Earth.
In fact, one of the best parts of the festival is all the great food! The 2017 Mobile International Festival food court will be alive with mouth-watering international dishes. Over 30 different vendor booths will be serving the delicious specialties their countries are known for. Intriguing entrees, appetizers, drinks and desserts will have you eating your way around the world without leaving Mobile. It's the culinary experience of a lifetime!
Another big draw is the wonderful variety of entertainment. Attendees to the Mobile International Festival will enjoy continuous, live international entertainment on three stages. Music, dances, storytelling and more will introduce you to a host of international pastimes.
Previous year's have seen Taiko Drummers from Japan, acrobats from Kenya, mariachi from Mexico, Irish pipers, dancers from Vietnam, and even an Egyptian storyteller. While this year's lineup has yet to be announced, you can rest assured it will continue the tradition excellence and cultural diversity.
Mobile International Festival also offers a unique shopping opportunity as you browse goods from all around the world. Exhibits, art, ceremonial dress and the sound of dozens of languages being spoken will round out your experience.
